Scholarship Application and Essay

At Acton Academy Kalispell, we believe every person is on a Hero’s Journey—a journey to discover their unique gifts, develop their character, overcome challenges, and find a calling that allows them to use their talents to serve others and make a meaningful difference in the world.

In approximately 300-500 words, tell us about what your Hero’s Journey has been so far and what you want it to look like this year.

You might consider:

• Tell us your name and something about yourself and what you enjoy doing.

• What is something difficult you have faced, and what did you learn about yourself from it or how did you grow from it?

• What talents, interests, or abilities would you like to develop?

• What kind of person do you hope to become this year?
  (Mention which character traits you’d like to work on and why. Ex: “I want to work on having grit, so I don’t give up when doing hard things,” Or, “I want to work on courage, so I am not afraid to try new things,” or “I want to grow in humility, so I am not afraid to say I’m sorry when I mess up.”

• If you could pursue a calling that combined something you love, something you are good at, and something that serves others, what might it be?
