Why is Acton different?
Acton is different from traditional private or public school because of our innovative model, where young people become respectful, confident, independent thinkers who discover great joy in learning, through a tight-knit, caring community that upholds the highest standards of excellence. They discover how to become self-motivated and self-governed by setting goals, being accountable, and earning higher levels of freedom, leadership, and desirable rewards.
Acton Academy does not have grades, homework, or regular tests.
Academically in the Voyager Studio, we have a emphasis on growing a love for learning such as reading, writing, and math. Foundational math skills become well established after addressing any learning gaps. A love for reading is fostered and grows from light to increasingly more difficult reading levels, which come naturally and enjoyably.
Voyagers grow strong in their academics, social confidence, critical thinking skills and finding their voice in daily discussions in a positive, respectful environment. All of this prepares them for the rigors of Navigation Studio and Principia High School.
Special emphasis at Acton is on developing strong character, such as honesty, accountability, courage to try new things, and accepting failure as learning opportunities. They learn to be open to receiving and giving constructive feedback, always taking responsibility and celebrating growth.
Acton Learners develop relationship skills and problem solving
Instead of becoming self-conscious, bullied, or negatively influenced by peer pressure, we foster an environment where learners self-regulate and address peer problems at the “Peace Table.” This is where they can practice expressing themselves constructively and find compromises and solutions together. Another way Acton learners take responsibility and action to solve studio and peer problems, is through weekly “Town Hall” meetings where they can bring up a topic, pitch a solution, and take votes on a resolution.
Acton Learners don't just stop at excellence in academics and critical thinking skills, they develop their unique giftings, self-governance, leadership abilities, and find their passion to make a difference in the world.

(each six weeks in school is called a “session.”)
FAMILIES ARE RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE CARE ON THESE WEEKS.

Monday - Friday
8:15am - 3:15pm
Tuition $10,500/year
Tuition is paid upfront (August) or over 10 months on the first Monday of each month, August-May.
